Isochrone

Draws the area you can reach from each point within a time or distance, such as a 15-minute drive.

Also known as: Drive-time area, reachability

How it works

Pick the Origin latitude and Origin longitude columns, a Travel mode (Car by default, or Bike, Walk or Truck), and the Budget: a number with Minutes or Metres, 15 minutes by default. Choose the Routing tiles to run on; the node works offline against the tile set installed in the app. Every input row comes back with its columns plus isochrone_geometry, the polygon of everything reachable within the budget. An origin outside the tiles gets NULL geometry.

Settings

The Attributes panel of Isochrone, as in the app: the controls work, but nothing runs — there is no data behind it.

The same settings, as the Assistant writes them
{
  lat: string
  lon: string
  costing: "auto"|"bicycle"|"pedestrian"|"truck"
  budget: number
  budgetType: "minutes"|"metres"
}

lat/lon are the origin columns. Never emit tile-set ids or paths — the app selects the installed tile set itself.

Example

You want a 15-minute drive catchment around each clinic. Set the origin columns to lat and lon, Travel mode to Car, Budget to 15 Minutes. A Spatial Join with population points then counts the people each clinic can reach. For several bands at once, use Trade Areas with the Drive time method.
